How Employee Templates Support Company-Level
users
Company-level users can utilise the Employee Templates feature to define and manage standardised payroll configurations for specific groups or sub-sets of employees within an organisation. For example, in South Africa, many organisations employ staff who are governed by different Bargaining Councils, each with its own wage structures, contribution rules, and statutory requirements. Managing these variations manually at an individual employee level can be complex, error-prone, and difficult to maintain over time.
The Employee Templates feature enables administrators to create Bargaining Council–specific templates at a company level, encapsulating all required payroll variables for each council. Once created, employees can be assigned to the appropriate Bargaining Council template based on their role, location, or employment contract.
Once created -
- Payroll calculations automatically reference the correct variable values.
- Income bases and contribution calculations remain consistent across all employees linked to the same template.
- Updates to council rates can be managed centrally by modifying the relevant template, eliminating the need to update individual employee records.

Company Template Configuration
The Template Configuration screen allows users to assign values to Component Variables that are associated with each template. These assigned values can then be utilised when calculating income bases for determining employee pay or contribution structures.
