Pacey AI is our new Deel Local Payroll assistant chatbot. Designed to help your team and employees navigate complex payroll data and questions using simple, natural-language chat.

There are two features included in the initial launch of Pacey AI:
- Query my Payroll Component Setup
- Talk to me about my Payslip
Query my Payroll Component Setup
The Query my Payroll Component Setup feature allows company administrators, business partners and consultants to ask natural-language questions about a company’s payroll configuration and receive immediate answers in a conversational format. This functionality streamlines payroll analysis, reduces manual checks and makes it easier to validate setup information on demand.
Example queries include:
- Highlight any differences between the setup of my 2 frequencies.
- Does any component reference “travel allowance”?
- Which components are indicated as part of package?
- Provide a list of components that don’t have a GL code linked.
Talk to me about my Payslip
The Talk to me about my Payslip feature enables employees and administrators to ask questions about their payslips in a simple chat format, with answers delivered immediately.
By combining payroll data, legislative knowledge, referencing material from the web and knowledge bases, the AI Assist chat provides clear, context-rich explanations that employees can easily understand.
This reduces the burden on HR and payroll teams, who typically spend hours answering repetitive queries and explaining complex concepts. Employees benefit from 24/7 access to accurate, plain-language explanations in their preferred style and any language.
Example queries include:
- Why did my net pay decrease this month?
- What is included in taxable income?
- Why did my tax go up in January?
- What is the difference between gross and net income?
Licensing & Pricing Requirements
Pacey AI does not require separate licensing or additional costs.
This feature is available on both desktop and mobile browsers (not yet via WhatsApp)
How to Get Started
Activation & Access
Company-Level and Business Partner users will need to enable a setting on the Basic Company Information screen, under the General tab - "Enable Pacey AI and accept the Terms and Conditions" before being able to access it for the selected company.
Navigate > Config > Basic Settings > Basic Company Information > General
Once the above setting is enabled for a company – all BP and company level users with access to the company will be able to access Pacey AI, visible in the navigation bar.
To restrict feature access for specific Company-Level and Business Partner users, manage the permissions through the security role assigned to those users.
Navigate > Config > Security > Security Roles
Employee Self Service users will see the Pacey AI icon but will not be able to ask questions regarding their payslips on Pacey.
They need to be given permission to this feature via the ESS security role.
- Both the “component query” and “employee payslip” feature options would appear for administrators (Company-Level and Business Partner users).
- As an administrator, to use the employee payslip feature, you would need to select an employee first.
- If you are logged in as an ESS user, you will only have access to the payslips feature.
- Select an option and start asking questions.
Using the Features
- Simply type your question into the chat interface.
- Pacey AI will generate a response in your preferred language, adapting tone and detail to suit your needs.
- Answers can be requested in different formats (e.g. list, summary, explanation).
