Guinea Conakry - Increase in CNSS Minimum Wage Limit Effective 1 June 2022
The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) is responsible for
managing the General Social Security system established by the Social Security
Code. The Social Security contributions are calculated based on a minimum and
maximum contribution base.
The maximum and minimum salary eligible for contributions is
established through Article 1 and 2 of Order No. 007/METFPP-ET/CAB
of 1 January 2019.
According to presidential decree D/2022/0270/PRG/SSG of 1
June 2022, the Guaranteed Interprofessional Minimum wage (SMIG) values
increased effective 1 June 2022. The SMIG amount impacts the minimum Social Security
contribution base.
Therefore, effective 1 June 2022 – - the monthly minimum ceiling
increased from GNF 440 000 to GNF 550 000
- the monthly maximum
ceiling remains unchanged at GNF 2 500 000
- the rate of social
contributions remains unchanged at 23% (Employer 18% and Employee 5%)
The calculation of Social Security
contributions involves multiplying the eligible salary for contributions
(within the defined minimum and maximum ceilings) by the applicable
contribution rate.
