Where do I download an employees P45 certificate?
A P45 is a termination certificate that is issued to a terminated employee.
The employees P45 certificate may be downloaded on the Tax Profile screen and can be located on the top right hand corner of the screen.
Navigate > Employee > Basic Information > Tax Profile
A P45 consists of 4 sections (Part 1, Part 1A, Part 2 and Part 3).
- Part 1 is for the employer to complete. They need to fill in details of the ex-employee such as their name and address, salary, tax code, tax paid to date, as well as including their own PAYE number as their employer.
- Part 1a is for the ex-employee’s own records.
- Parts 2 and 3 are for the ex-employee’s new employer or, if they’re no longer working, the employee may submit it to their Job centre Plus in order to access any benefits they may be entitled to.
A P45 certificate will contain the following details:
- The employees tax code
- The employees gross pay
- The amount of tax paid by the employee for the tax year
- Employer details
