Republic of Congo | SMIG Increase

In the Republic of Congo, the guaranteed minimum wage (SMIG) is now set to 70,400 CFA francs per month, effective January 1, 2025.

This new rate results from a negotiation process that repeals the previous decree from December 21, 2008, which established the minimum wage at 50,400 CFA francs per month.

This decision, adopted during the last Council of Ministers meeting on November 8, 2024, is viewed by the workers' union as a significant government strategy improvement.
