Canada | What is the purpose of the “Province of Physical Work” setting?
The "Province of Physical Work" setting allows you to specify the province where an employee is physically performing their work, which may differ from their Province of Employment and is used only for Workers’ Compensation calculations.
This setting is particularly useful for remote workers who live in one province but perform work in another.
Example- Province of Employment: Ontario
- Province of Physical Work: Yukon
In this case, Workers’ Compensation calculations will use Yukon rules.
Once enabled and a province is selected, the Workers’ Compensation calculations will be based on the Province of Physical Work and all other payroll calculations remain based on the Province of Employment.
Navigate > Employee record > Payroll Processing > Pay Rate Details > Workers Compensation

Note!
Ensure the Workers Compensation Classification on the employee’s Position screen is configured and that it is associated with the same province selected as the Province of Physical Work.
