South Africa’s National Treasury (Ministry of Finance) has issued a media advisory inviting public submissions for the 2026 Budget, ahead of the Budget Speech on 25 February 2026 (issued 20 January 2026).

  1. The Minister of Finance, Mr Enoch Godongwana, will deliver the National Budget Speech on 25 February 2026.
Public invited to submit 2026 Budget tips
  1. South Africans can share suggestions for the 2026 Budget.
  2. Topics include:
    1. government spending priorities
    2. addressing a large budget deficit
    3. stabilising State-Owned Entity finances
    4. energy and water investments
    5. tax policies
    6. debt sustainability
    7. municipal finances
    8. other economy-related topics
  3. Submissions should be concise and to the point (not longer than 300 words).
  4. Closing date for submissions: 16 February 2026.
