Nigeria | Tax Reform Bills Passed by National Assembly

On 7 and 8 May 2025, the Nigerian National Assembly passed a series of tax reform bills, including:
  1. The Nigeria Tax Bill
  2. The Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Bill
  3. The Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Bill
  4. The Nigeria Tax Administration Bill
All four bills have now progressed through their third readings and have been approved by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The next step is for the National Assembly’s conference committee to reconcile any differences between the versions passed by each chamber, before forwarding the final versions to the President for assent.

Please note: The tax bill has amendments affecting payroll, further communication on the changes and the promulgation will follow.
