Ghana | SSNIT Maximum Insurable Earnings for 2025

The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), in consultation with the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), has revised the maximum insurable earnings for 2025 from GHS 52,000.00 to GHS 61,000.00. This adjustment aligns with Section 63(3) of the National Pensions Act 2008 (Act 766) and will take effect from 1 January 2025.

 

Important Notice:

  • SSNIT has not published a public notice yet; however, SSNIT circulated letters to certain employers, and SSNIT has confirmed this increase via email.
  • The minimum insurable earnings remain unchanged, as no new limit has been communicated or published.
  • From 1 January 2025, the maximum and minimum contributions payable to SSNIT will be GHS 8,235.00 and GHS 66.16, respectively.
  • Employers and SSNIT Scheme members impacted by this change should ensure the correct contributions are made by the 14th of the following month
