Tanzania - Finance Act 2024 Effective 1 July 2024
On 28 June 2024, The
National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania passed the Finance Bill,
2024. The Bill was then assented to by the President, effectively making it the
Finance Act, of 2024. Published on 30 June 2024, the Finance Act 2024
introduces amendments to several laws, effective 1 July 2024.
The following amendment impacts
payroll for the 2024 tax year:
Amendment of the
Vocational Education and Training Act, Cap82:- Payments made
to casual workers employed in water projects managed by Water and Sanitation Authorities
are exempt from the Skills Development Levy.
