South Africa | SARS Extends EMP201 Submission and Payment Deadline to 14 July 2025
SARS has announced an extension of the due date for the submission and payment of the EMP201 return for the June 2025 payroll period. This follows higher-than-expected system volumes experienced on eFiling, which caused delays for many employers trying to file on time.
What you need to know:
- The original due date for submission and payment was 7 July 2025.
- SARS has now extended the deadline to Monday, 14 July 2025.
- Employers who file and pay by 14 July will not be penalised or charged interest, provided they would have otherwise been compliant.
- This extension applies to PAYE, UIF, and SDL obligations included in the EMP201.
Action required:
Please ensure your EMP201 return is submitted and payment is made by no later than Monday, 14 July 2025, to avoid late submission penalties and interest.
