Senegal | Social Security Ceiling Update

The Senegal Social Security Fund announced Decision No. 502 on 20 December 2024, which was published on 28 January 2025. This decision aimed to increase the monthly salary ceiling used for social security calculations from 63,000 FCFA to 80,000 FCFA, effective 1 April 2025.

The previous ceiling of 63,000 FCFA did not align with the Guaranteed Interprofessional Minimum Wage (SMIG), set at 64,223 FCFA per month by Decree No. 2023-1710 on 7 August 2023.

However, on 29 January 2025, circular letter No.08/2025 was issued suspending this increase.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as there are further developments.
