Lesotho Budget Speech 2025

On 19 February 2025, the Minister of Finance and Development Planning of Lesotho delivered the Budget Speech for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.

During the speech, the following payroll-related proposals were announced:

  • The minimum income tax threshold will increase to M74,040.00 per year (M6,170.00 per month) subject to a 20% tax rate.
  • Earnings above M74,040.00 per year (M6,170.00 per month) will be taxed at 35%.
  • The tax credit for individual income earners will increase from M11,040.00 per year (M920.00 per month) to M11,640.00 per year (M970.00 per month).

Currently, these proposed amendments and their effective date have not yet been enacted. We will provide further updates once they have been officially promulgated.
