Kenya | Simplified Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) filing process
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is in the process of streamlining the PAYE return process to improve taxpayer compliance. Key changes include:
- A simplified P10 PAYE Return (for both self and administrative assessments), with a new template currently being piloted. It's expected to be available for July 2025 submissions (due August 2025).
- PAYE filing and payment via Mobile App for employers with fewer than 10 employees.
- Future rollout of API functionality to allow filing and payment directly from payroll systems.
- Free, simplified payroll software for MSMEs.
- Pre-filled PAYE returns using prior period employee data for MSMEs.
