Kenya | How do I exempt employees from contributing to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF)?
Enable the "Exempt from NSSF" checkbox under the Employee tab on the Basic Profile screen, in order for the employee to be expemt from contributing to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
Navigate > Employee > Basic Information > Basic Profile > Employee > Statutory Fields
When enabled, the following components will not calculate on the employee's Edit Payslip screen -
- NSSF Tier 1 Contribution Employee (Tax code NSSFEE1)
- NSSF Tier 2 Contribution Employee (Tax code NSSFEE2)
- NSSF Tier 1 Contribution Employer (Tax code NSSFER1)
- NSSF Tier 2 Contribution Employer (Tax code NSSFER2)
- NSSF Income Tier 1 (Tax code NSSFI1)
- NSSF Income Tier 2 (Tax code NSSFI2)
- NSSF Apply old calc (Activation Note component for the next two components)
- OLD: NSSF Employee (Tax code NSFEE)
- OLD: NSSF Employer (Tax code NSFER)
The exemption only applies from the current MTD payslip going forward.
