How to correct e@syFile™ error: Pay Periods worked (3210) contains the following invalid characters ('-')

Alert
This feature is available on all Deel Local Payroll powered by payspace editions

The error appears in e@syFile™ because the company’s Frequency Tax Year is set up for the current Tax Year, but the employee is still linked to the previous Tax Year, e.g. the company’s Frequency Tax Year starts on 6 March 2025, i.e. 2025/2026 Tax Year, but the employee is linked to 2024/2025 Tax Year.

To resolve the e@syFile™ error, change the Frequency Tax Year Start Date to the employee's associated Tax Year.

Navigate > Config > Payroll > Payroll Config > Pay Frequencies

Once updated, open the employee’s Tax Certificate / Historical Drill Down screen and check that the periods worked field is not negative.

Navigate > Employee > Payroll Results > Tax Certificates / Historical Drill Down

InfoOnce the Frequency Tax Year Start Date has been updated, create an Interim run and link it to the associated Tax Year and create a blank payslip for the affected employee/s. If the Interim Run cannot be created, email support@payspace.com for assistance.
Once completed, delete the current Live CSV File and regenerate and a Live CSV File on the system and resubmit the file on e@syFile™.
