How does the "Use Leave Priority" option work when applying for leave?

When employees apply for leave, the option Use Leave Priority appears beneath the bucket section.

      Navigate > Employee > Leave > Applications

      

Selecting Use Leave Priority ensures that leave is deducted according to the order specified in the company's Leave Scheme Parameters. The leave priority applied will correspond to the Leave Scheme linked to the employee.

      Navigate > Config > Human Resources > Leave Administration > Leave Scheme Parameters

      

Leave will be deducted in the order defined on this screen, according to the company-level setup. The numbers indicate the sequence in which leave will be applied.

As shown in the example above, leave will first be deducted from the Annual Carry Over Leave bucket. Once this bucket has no available days remaining, the system will then deduct leave from the Annual Leave bucket.

      If the below setting has not been enabled, the system will by default use Leave Priority when employees apply for leave on ESS.
