How does the Manager Self Service (MSS) security role work?
If an employee is registered for ESS and is linked as a directly reports to person they will automatically be linked to the Manager Self Service (MSS) security role and have access as specified on the security role.
Navigate > Configuration > Security > Security > Security Roles
The person who is linked as a directly reports to person will automatically qualify for access as provided in the MSS Security Role, provided that they are registered for ESS. The directly reports to person (i.e. the manager) is linked on an employee's Position screen.
Navigate > Employee > Basic Information > Position > Reporting Line
When the directly reports to person logs into ESS, they can access their subordinates via Team Access.
They will have access to the subordinates screens as stipulated uner the "Employee" menu branch on the MSS security role.
Navigate > Configuration > Security > Security > Security Roles> add/edit/view permissions
