How do I terminate an employee?

This feature is available on all PaySpace editions.

An employee can be terminated by selecting the Terminate menu option which opens the Tax Profile screen. 

      Navigate > Employee > On / Off Boarding > Terminate > Tax Profile > Employment

      

Once the "Terminate employee" checkbox is selected, a new section: Termination will appear with the necessary fields to complete the process.

      

Important!
  1. An employee cannot be terminated if the termination date falls within the previous tax year. Terminate the employee at the beginning of the new tax year. Ensure that the employee has no financial data for the new tax year, and complete and send the attached form to support@payspace.com to correct the termination date.
  2. The Tax Profile screen now alerts users with an on-screen pop-up message, when an employee is being terminated, has pending or approved leave transactions with dates that fall on or after the selected termination date.

    1. The notification only applies to terminations captured on the Tax Profile screen and not on the Bulk Actions screen. 

    2. The notification applies to all leave types.
