How do I generate final tax certificates for terminated employees during the Annual submission?
A new option has been added to the Tax Certificate Run screen.
This new option allows the user to generate the terminated employees' final tax certificates before the bi-annual submission.
How does it work?
- If this option is selected then the system will generate a final tax certificate number for the employee.
- This will only generate the numbers and not an actual tax file.
- This final certificate number will return on the tax certificate in the "Certificate No." field.
- The "DRAFT" text on the tax certificate will be removed (This will be released in task 45736).
- The "Period of Reconciliation" field in the tax certificate number will be "02".
- This will update the tax certificate which is downloaded from the employee's "Tax Certificates and Historical Drill Down" screen and the "IRP5 / Lump Sum Certificates" legislative report.
PaySpace Impact:
- All termination reasons are included.
- If an employee is terminated at the time this process is executed then the employee will be included.
- If an employee was terminated and reinstated within the tax year, and the file is generated again, the final tax certificate number will be removed for that employee.
- When this option is selected then the below warning message will appear:
Please note that once the final tax certificate number is created for terminated employees, and a resubmission file is generated, the final tax certificate number will stay the same.
- This function is only available from March 2022
