How do I correct e@syFile™ error: "Pay-As-You-Earn PAYE (4102) Must not be completed if Type of Certificate is IT3(a), ITREG"?

e@syFile™ error "Pay-As-You-Earn PAYE (4102) Must not be completed if Type of Certificate is IT3(a), ITREG" appears if the employee's tax certificate is an IT3(a) and the IT3(a) contains PAYE. This e@syFile error indicates that the employee's Year To Date Pay As You Earn (tax code 4102) for the Tax Year was more than nil but less than R1.

In this instance the user should perform a Tax Adjustment on February Year-End Correction Interim Run to adjust the Tax to either nil or R1.

Step 1: Verify the employee's tax certificate's certification type on the Tax Certificates / Historical Drill Down screen.

Navigate > Employee > Payroll Results > Tax Certificates / Historical Drill Down

Step 2: Check if there is PAYE calculated on the same screen.

If the employee IT3(a) has PAYE calculated on theTax Certificates / Historical Drill Down screen, create an Interim correction run attached to the previous tax year and remove the tax by processing a negative amount of tax on the employee's Edit Payslip screen.
