How can I confirm that the tax amount listed on the payslip has been accurately calculated?
South Africa's preferred method for calculating PAYE liability is the Average/Cumulative Tax Method, which is based on Year-To-Date (YTD) earnings.
To confirm that the tax paid reflected on a payslip is correct, a breakdown of the tax calculation can be viewed on the Other Actions button in the top right-hand area on the Edit Payslip screen. The system as been enhanced so that it can be downloaded in PDF format.
Navigate > Employee > Payroll Processing > Edit Payslip > Other Actions > View > Tax Breakdown
