Eswatini | Budget Speech 2026/2027
On 27 February 2026, the Minister of Finance, Neal Rijkenberg, delivered Eswatini’s 2026/27 Budget Speech under the theme “Agape Love, Love in Action for Economic Transformation”, setting out a clear plan to support economic transformation while maintaining fiscal discipline.
No proposed changes to statutory payroll calculations for the 2026/2027 tax year
- Statutory payroll tax parameters, including personal income tax (PAYE) rates, remain unchanged.
- In line with the law, any PAYE or other tax changes announced in the Budget Speech only take effect once they are enacted through the appropriate legal instrument.
What is changing
Modernisation of tax and customs systems
- Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) continues the digitalisation and automation of tax and customs systems.
- The Government will focus on closing the compliance gap through digitalisation rather than increasing tax rates.
- The reforms aim to improve compliance, support taxpayers and protect and grow domestic revenue.
