Egypt - Increase in Social Security Limits Effective 1 January 2024
The Social Insurance and Pension Law no.148 of 2019 mandates a 15% increase on the minimum and maximum salary limits on which the social security contributions are calculated. This increase is effective 1 January every year for a period of seven years from, 1 January 2021.
Therefore, effective 1 January 2024 -
- the monthly minimum salary limit increases from EGP 1 700 to EGP 2 000, and
- the monthly maximum limit increases from EGP 10 900 to EGP 12 600.
